My aim with fingerstylefocus.com is to help you focus with material that is accurate and tailored to your development as a fingerstyle guitar player. For the past 20 years I’ve been a professional guitarst, studio musician and educator. I’ve written hundreds of columns for some of the world’s best guitar magazines – Guitar Techniques, Guitarist, Total Guitar and Akustik Gitarre.
My pieces are studied the world over by students of the Rockschool and London College of Music exams and my 9 fingerstyle/acoustic guitar books are used by students and teachers across the globe. As a professional composer my fingerstyle guitar pieces regularly feature on major TV networks whilst a performing career has taken me to concert halls across Europe.
The site is designed to cover core elements of playing from technique and style studies to going in depth on my arrangements and pieces to help you develop that all important repertoire. All lessons are video based so you can see my fingering up close and the accompanying tab/notation means that you have accurate resources at your fingertips at all times.
